Play for P.I.N.K. (Prevention, Immediate diagnosis, New technology, Knowledge, or PFP) is a grassroots organization dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research through lifestyle and sporting events. PFP’s commitment is to contribute 100% of all proceeds to its sole beneficiary, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) to fund the world’s top researchers.
Play for P.I.N.K. Millbrook, is celebrating it's 10 year anniversary. Over the years we have raised over $1,500,000 and have heard from distinguished BCRF and PFP researchers speakers including Dr. Cliff Hudis, Dr. Larry Norton, Dr Jedd Wolchok, Dr Taha Merghoub, Dr. Neil Iyengar, Dr. Elisa Port, Dr. Robert Benezra , Dr. Elizabeth Comen and more. Play for P.I.N.K. Millbrook is one of over 350 events held throughout the US.
IN 2024, PLAY FOR P.I.N.K. RAISED $6.25 MILLION To date, Play for P.I.N.K. has raised nearly $85 million to fund the world’s most promising breast cancer research by the brightest minds in the field. This research is already saving lives, improving outcomes and uncovering new approaches to this complex, challenging disease.
WE FUND 22 OF THE WORLD'S LEADING RESEARCHERS Play for P.I.N.K. supports 22 researchers through BCRF, pursuing projects that stand to improve care in towns and communities across the United States. FUNDING BREAST CANCER RESEARCH BOOSTS OUR CHANCES FOR TREATING OTHER CANCERS, TOO A better understanding of breast cancer not only leads to better outcomes for people who have it; it unlocks the secrets of other diseases as well, with some targeted therapies for breast cancer having treatment applications against other types of cancer, too. One such example is the discovery of Herceptin for the treatment of HER2+ breast cancer, which is now also being used to treat HER2+ esophageal and metastatic gastric cancers.
The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is dedicated to ending breast cancer by advancing the world’s most promising research.
BCRF is the largest private funder of breast cancer research — and metastatic breast cancer research — worldwide and is the highest-rated breast cancer organization in the country.
At BCRF, we fund people, not just their projects. This means that we seek out the best minds in science and medicine to help us unravel the complexities of cancer, and then we provide them with the funding and freedom to pursue their greatest ideas.
When Evelyn Lauder and Dr. Larry Norton founded BCRF in 1993, they realized the irrefutable power of research. They also recognized what was needed to gain real ground in the fight against breast cancer—the freedom and security for researchers to thrive and innovate. Their approach was simple: identify those people with the most promising ideas, then give them the money and flexibility to pursue them.
BCRF's Scientific Advisory Board, comprised of leading experts in breast cancer research, plays a pivotal role in informing and steering the direction of our grantmaking. Our approach accelerates the entire field and moves us closer to the answers we urgently need.
We can’t stop now. Join us in fueling the world’s most promising research. With you, we will bring the end of breast cancer into focus.
